| Wed., Jan. 11 | 2:00 p.m. | Soul Collage An activity led by Rev. Michelle LaGrave.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season just past and spend a bit of time nurturing your spirit. Join Rev. Michelle for an evening of inspirational creativity. We'll make collages, spend some time in reflection, and may even create a group poem. Absolutely NO artistic talent or experience is required! |
| Sat., Jan. 14 | 4:00 p.m. | Seuss in the Sanctuary: Open Mike and Potluck. A presentation delivered by Rev. Michelle LaGrave.
As radically hospitable people, we want to be sure that everyone who joins us for worship on Sunday mornings can hear! As we know that hearing loss is all about the hearer's ability to hear and not the speaker’s ability to project, we are committed to using microphones during worship. Of course, not everyone is comfortable speaking into a microphone, so we're here to help in a fun and engaging way. Join us for an evening of reading Seuss in the sanctuary and then socializing over dinner. Sponsored by the Membership Committee |
| Sun., Jan. 15 | 10:00 a.m. | A Life of the Spirit. A sermon delivered by Rev. Michelle LaGrave.
The civil rights work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is well-known; probably lesser so is his inner spiritual life -- that same life which sustained him in his civil rights work and allowed him to continue even while his life was threatened. Through worship, song, prayer, and readings we’ll explore the life of the spirit which allows any of us to do the work of social justice. Service to be held in the Davis Memorial. |
